The Northland Performing Arts Center is a performing arts and community center managed by OPA, Inc., which conducts business as “NPAC”. NPAC is a 501(c)(3) and Ohio non-profit charity with a mission to serve the central Ohio arts community. NPAC produces and hosts presentations in music, dramatics, the arts and related fields in order to foster public interest and education. While NPAC prioritizes these uses and community activities, it offers other short term facility rentals to further this purpose. NPAC seeks to achieve sustainability without a view to profit while not discriminating on the basis of race, color, creed, gender, orientation or ability to pay.

Opened in 2011, NPAC is located on the old Northland Mall grounds and occupies over 30,000 square feet of what was JCPenney and can accommodate up to 1,500 people. The interior was completely rebuilt to be flexible and well-suited for productions, special events and the needs of arts organizations. It includes production and rehearsal spaces, a lobby/reception area (with art hanging systems and 24’ projection screen), a full commercial kitchen (with liquor license), a green room (with mirrors and showers), and a large warehouse for set construction and storage of sets, props, and costumes. NPAC offers quality stage, curtain, lighting, sound and seating systems. The facility and property are shared liberally with other central Ohio arts organizations, schools, churches and community organizations.

NPAC has received multiple grants from Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC), Puffin West Foundation, and is in the charity directory of The Columbus Foundation. Each fall, NPAC produces a major benefit production of a classic Broadway musical. Local celebrity Cabot Rea was featured in 2017 and 2016 as Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady and Emile de Becque in South Pacific. NPAC houses two resident performing arts companies: Vaud-Villities Productions (“VV”) and Imagine Productions (“Imagine”). NPAC does so through non-traditional leases based on ability to pay from net proceeds of operations and it actively supports and participates in their shows. Thus, NPAC partners with these charities for robust year-round program. VV presents a large annual variety show each spring, a holiday show, a summer cabaret and youth show camp sessions in the summer. Imagine produces four or five musical productions each year in NPAC, with additional cabaret and road shows. Each year, NPAC hosts dozens of dance, music, art, health, job fair, “Meet the Candidates”, and other community events and meetings.

NPAC’s toll free number is (877) 764-3623 and its address is 4411 Tamarack Blvd., Columbus OH 43229.
